AROPE Property and Liability Insurance and AROPE Life Insurance – Egypt is one of the subsidiaries of AROPE Insurance Company – Lebanon, which is licensed to engage in liability and property insurance activities as well as life insurance considering the licenses issued by the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) and in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 10 of 1981, the Insurance Supervision and Control Law and its Executive Regulations

Based on the principle of maintaining the confidentiality of data and information related to the company’s dealers and customers, this policy has been formulated to clarify the nature of the personal data that will be gathered, and to clarify the purpose of collecting such a data and the procedures for processing/sharing and/or disclosing it.

 

  1. What is meant by personal data?

Any data relating to a natural person, who is or can be identified directly or indirectly by linking this data with any other data such as “The name, sound, picture, identification number, etc.

So, in the event of visiting AROPE’s Website, the electronic database server automatically will gather the details of your visit data, including:

➢ Internet Protocol Address (Digital Identifier) – IP

➢ The website you visited us through.

➢ Type of the used browser software.

In addition, some personal data will be gathered and processed:

Under this policy, AROPE Egypt is the data controller in accordance with the provisions of Personal Data Protection Code No. 151 for 2020 and its complementary regulations and any relevant laws.

All personal data is collected through direct contact with the customer himself, and/or through one of his authorized agents or through one of our agents/brokers or business partners and suppliers, or/and insurance companies/firms, or/and any of medical service providers, loss assessment personnel, inspection personnel, or persons involved in the settlement of claims, or/and via the others who are entitled to submit the claims requests under your insurance policy, or/and via the professional doctors, fraud prevention organizations, information search service providers, or the company you work for (Employer), or/and the third parties making group insurance coverage arrangements of which you are a part, or/and Law enforcement or disputes resolution bodies, legislative and regulatory bodies, or attorneys, and/or through marketing and industry databases or any other sources that are available to the public or by authorized parties.

 

Your submitted personal data will be used for a variety of purposes including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Managing insurance contracts (For example: submitting insurance offers, evaluating insurance applications, underwriting, settling, and managing claims).
  • Conduct market research and analysis for analytical purposes and to help us improve our operations, services, and products.
  • To share with you the latest events, services, products, and company news.
  • To take measures to prevent and detect fraud, forgery, money laundering and terrorist financing .
  • Compliance with any legal obligations (for example, Tax, financial and admin obligations).

Your personal data will be requested mandatory if you wish to purchase our products and services. If you refrain to share such data with us, we may not be able to provide products and services that you have requested or that you may be interested, or we will not be able to issue an offer according to your specific requirements.

  • AROPE’s other corporates, technical consultants and experts, attorneys, surveyors and damage assessment experts, doctors, TPA, services providers (IT, Claims, Medical operations, mails, docs relation management etc.)
  • Advertising and Marketing Agencies, to share the marketing content with you, your data will not be shared with irrelevant party in this regard without your consent.
  • Finally, your personal data maybe shared in the following cases:
    • In the event of a potential or actual restructuring, merger, sale, partnership, assignment, transfer, or other disposition of all or part of our business, assets, or stock (including insolvency or similar proceedings).
  1. Data Processing.

Your personal data will be processed inboard and outboard of the Arab Republic of Egypt through the relevant parties mentioned in section 4 hereinabove, such processing is subject permanently to the contractual restrictions related to data confidentiality in accordance with the relevant provisions mentioned in the applicable laws, it will never be disclosed to any of irrelevant parties.

In case of processing your personal data by any of AROPE Group abroad companies, it will be done considering AROPE’s controls and rules which are approved by the head office.

➢ Being aware of accessing and obtaining his/her personal data held by any holder, controller, or processor.

➢ Rescind the prior consent to keep or modify his personal data.

➢ Correct, modify, delete, add, or update such data.

➢ Customize processing in a specific range.

➢ Being aware or/and informed by any breaches of his/her data.

➢ Objection to the processing of his/her personal data that interferes with any of his/her basic rights and freedoms

Such data will be maintained for ten years from the ending date of the insurance relationship unless a longer retention period is required or as permitted by law.
